Appellation (also Blanc-Fumé de Pouilly) for white wine at the top of the Loire southeast of Orléans in the department of Nièvre in central France. She may not use the appellation Pouilly-Fuissé in the Burgundian area Mâconnais be confused. The vineyards here have monks of the Benedictine Order already laid out in the Middle Ages. The area covers over 1,000 hectares of vines in the seven municipalities of Garchy, Mesves -sur-Loire, Pouilly -sur-Loire, Saint-Andelain, Saint-Laurent-l'Abbaye, Saint-Martin-sur-Nohain and Tracy-sur-Loire (with associated part Boisgibault).
