2007 Côtes du Roussillon-Villages AOC Numéro Uno, Roussillon, France

Firm and deep, delicately smoky aroma of ripe black berries, preserved cherries and some plums with peppery aromas, Mediterranean herbs, some meat and smoky nuances. Tart, juicy, ripe, tightly knit fruit with a fine acid bite and present, yet ripe tannins, dense and persistent on the palate, smoky and hints of toasty tones, pickled cherries and pepper on the palate, Mediterranean herbs, salt behind, has power, substance and depth, still seems very vital, very good, tight finish with clean, tart juice, some smoke and Mediterranean spice again. In excellent shape.

Wirkt eher verschlossen.

Editor note: Nose still undeveloped, preserved black berries, some juniper and cherries, earthy, vegetal and animal notes. Very vibrant and juicy on the palate, dark, relatively cool fruit, vegetal notes, very fine, slightly sandy tannins, very persistent, full-bodied, earthy as well as prominent mineral notes, still undeveloped, lively and has some acid bite, very well balanced, firm and still very youthful, long finish.
