Editor note: Firm, deep nose, cedary and light animal notes, ripe black berries and some tarry notes, aromas of black olives, tobacco and licorice, earthy notes. Ripe, firm, tart, juicy dark fruit on the palate, toasted, cedary and peppery aromas, touch of red bell peppers, firm, youthful tannins, noticeable acid bite, some herbaceous notes, veryfull-bodied, salty mineral notes in the background, good depth, quite complex, very good, firm, tart, juicy finish.
Best to drink: 2021-2030+

IGP area in the northern half of the Tarn department in Southwest France, In terms of area, it corresponds to the AOC area Gaillac and additional area south to the Agout River. Côtes du Tarn is part of the huge regional IGP area Comté Tolosan, The vineyards cover 5,000 hectares of vines on limestone soils mainly along and around the Tarn River in 116 municipalities. The two municipalities Cabanès and Cunac can add their names to the name. In this area between the Atlantic and the Mediterranean there is maritime climate with mild rainy winters and dry, hot summers.
