2012 Sancerre AOC Akméniné, Loire, France

Cloudy golden yellow. Firm and deep, fairly yeasty, tobacco and earthy to mineral notes with yellow fruit, yellow spicy and pronounced nutty aromas, vegetal notes and dry herbs. Ripe, creamy and concentrated, slightly open fruit with nutty, delicately waxy, spicy yellow and tobacco notes, has some warmth, but also a lot of tannins and yeasty notes, vanilla and partly candied citrus in the background, excellent substance, depth and persistence , light nutty notes, still little developed, enormous mineral notes, very good to long, somewhat warm finish with buttery traces, mature juice, mineral notes, herbs and considerable tannin-grip. Does not have much to do with classic Sancerre and will only appeal to people who are open-minded to this type of natural wine; At any rate, we are enthusiastic.
