2002 Clos de Vougeot AOC, Burgundy, France

Delicate maturation notes on the nose, preserved red berries, some sweet cherries and plums, candied floral notes and mineral traces, light spicy oak. Elegant juicy fruit on the palate, prominent oak, fairly prominent fine and slightly astringent tannins, smoky and roasted notes, slightly salty mineral notes in the background, fairly creamy, good persistence and medium depth, some more slightly astringent oak on an otherwise very good finish.
