1985 Hermitage AOC, Rhône, France

Red berries on the nose, some black olives, provencale herbs, some earthy and vegetal traces, light smoky and roasted notes. Slightly dissolute fruit on the palate, earthy and vegetal notes, slightly astringent tannins, light acid bite, mineral notes, surprisingly deep, very good long finish. Will probably still last a while, but is likely to decline from here on.
