1990 Hermitage AOC, Rhône, France

Light vegetal notes on the nose, nutty notes, light lactic and volatile notes, behind this some mixed berries, smoked meat and pepper, roasted notes. Slightly dissolute fruit on the palate, more peppery notes and smoked meat, vegetal notes, prominent acidity, loads of astringent tannins, rather astringent again on an otherwise fairly good finish. A disappointing bottle.
