Village appellation in the Burgundian area Cote de Nuits, which is named after the community of the same name. This borders the municipality in the south Morey-Saint-Denis, The total area of vines covers around 500 hectares, including some vineyards in the neighboring municipality of Brochon. In 1847 Gevrey added the name Chambertin to the place name, which is the name of the most famous and best location on the Côte d'Or.
