2000 Chateauneuf-du-Pape AOC, Rhône, France

Developed, somewhat nutty, dried floral and slightly plumy aroma of ripe, partly preserved red berries with pomegranate notes, relatively tart spicy aromas, tarragon and marjoram, also a little lovage as well as mineral tones. Ripe, juicy, warm red fruit, spicy and herbal aromas, meaty nuances, some paprika spice, a touch of candy, dried flowers, salt in the background, juniper tones, has power and warmth, becomes fresher again with air and clearly more complex, some grip of crumbly tannin, also fine bite, very good, juicy and spicy finish. In amazing condition.

Editor note: Wild berry nose with some plums and fruit marinated in rum, animal notes, slightly cheesy, overripe malted notes. Juicy fruit, again reminiscent of rum punch, slightly rough tannins, very powerful body, lots of sweet creamyn otes, noticeable alcohol, partly dried plums and wilted flowers, quite good substance, mouth-filling, fruity and creamy, slightly jammy finish.
