2016 Rasteau AOC Le Chéne, Rhône, France

Astringent, slightly nutty and earthy scent of black berries and tart cherries with a little bit of dried herbs and pepper. Clear, fresh, tart and juicy fruit with lively acidity and youthful, present, yet fine tannin, quite persistent and strong on the palate, herbal notes in the background, some pepper and a hint of bitter chocolate, earthy to mineral tones, still young, not forever deep, but well done, good to very good finish.
