2002 Côtes du Roussillon AOC Sumeria, Roussillon, France

Somewhat chocolaty aroma of ripe mixed berries and plums with restrained herbal notes from Provence and earthy tones. Ripe, juicy and melting fruit in the mouth, chocolaty and somewhat nutty aromas, crumbly tannin, lots of power, warming, yet very well integrated alcohol, persistent on the palate, herbal hints, a hint of black olives, earthy tones, very good finish.

Editor note: Oak-dominated nose, preserved black fruit, dark roasted notes, black olives, dried herbs and some malted notes. Quite juicy fruit in spite of the dominant roasted oak, full-bodeid and creamy, ripe tannins still slightly sandy and dry, more black olives, some dark caramel, good persistence on the palate, noticeable alcohol, some coffee on a good finish.
