The cooperative winery is located in the municipality of Klausen (Chiusa) in the Italian winegrowing area South-Tirol
(Region Trentino-Alto Adige
). It was founded in 1961 by then 24 members. The foundation stone was laid in the historic cellar of the Reinthalerhof. Today the operation of Dr. Ing. Claudia Perbellini led, as a winemaker Thomas Dorfmann is responsible. In 1975, the relocation to the present location; In 2005 the production building was extended and rebuilt. The vineyards cover 130 hectares of vineyards up to 900 meters above sea level, which are managed by 130 counseling and training supported members from 11 communities. The white varieties Sylvaner, Müller-Thurgau, Grüner Veltliner, Gewürztraminer, Kerner, Ruländer, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, as well as the red varieties Vernatsch, Blauburgunder, Blauer Portugieser, Lagrein and Zweigelt are grown and processed. The winery specializes in white wines.
The hand-picked and immediately delivered to the winery grapes are subjected to a quality test and evaluated according to health status and gradation. The must is fermented at controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks or wooden barrels. Depending on the variety and quality level, there is a different length of storage and maturation. The varietally white wines of the "Aristos line" are made from strictly selected, low-yield grapes of the highest quality. The absolute Sptzenerzeugnisse of the house are the two built in Barrique "Dominius" (red and white) from selected locations, the dessert wine "Nectaris" from selected, dried grapes, and the white wine "Harmony" from selected grapes of the central Eisacktal. Most of the wines are under the DOC designations Eisacktaler
and South Tyrol
produced. Every year, around one million bottles are marketed.
