2003 Barolo DOCG, Piedmont, Italy

Preserved and partlydried red berries on the nose, plums and dried flowers, some dark caramel and a hint of sugar candy, spicy notes. Quite spicy again on the palate, some more caramel and sugar candy, roasted oak, preserved and partly dried red fruit, fairly prominent and slightly astringent tannins, some malted notes, medium body, herbaceous notes in the background, not particularly deep, slightly astringent finish.
