2017 Pinot Noir trocken "The Pinot Noir", Burgenland, Austria

Very slightly toasted bouquet of ripe black and red berries with dried vegetable to tobacco notes, a hint of bacon, soot and earthy tones. Also sooty and bacony in the mouth, relatively dark fruit, bitter chocolate and smoky wood notes, some bite, present, somewhat drying tannin, peppery and dried herbal notes, in the background some salt, a lot of power and noticeable alcohol, a little rustic style, a lot of bitter, sooty wood even in the otherwise quite juicy finish. Does not leave much of the variety, but is well done in its style
