The estate is located in the municipality of Zöbing in the Kamptal wine-growing region in Lower Austria at the foot of the Zöbinger Heiligenstein. It has been family-owned since the 1950s and is managed by Erwin and Paul Retzl. Mostly terraced Vineyards cover almost 20 hectares of vineyards in and around Zöbing. The most important locations include Heiligenstein Kogelberg Pfaffenberg and lamb, The vineyards are 80% white wine varieties Green Valtellina. Riesling. Sauvignon Blanc. Pinot Blanc. Chardonnay. . Traminer and Müller-Thurgau, as well as 20% with the red wine variety Zweigelt planted.
The basement is laid out on three levels, which is why pumping operations are avoided. After the juice has been extracted, it is individually tailored to the grape material and gentlest squeeze, The wines only mature in stainless steel tanks in the approximately 400 year old brick vault of the wine cellar. The premium wines include various Rieslings and Grüner Veltliner with vineyard names. Wines from 1903 are stored in the cellar, which are only opened on special occasions.
