The estate is located in the municipality Zöbing in the Lower Austrian wine region Kamptal at the foot of the Zöbinger Heiligenstein. It has been family owned since the 1950s and is run by Erwin and Paul Retzl. Mostly terraced Vineyards cover nearly 20 hectares of vineyards in and around Zöbing. To count the most important situations Heiligenstein, Kogelberg, Pfaffenberg and lamb, The vineyards are 80% with the white wine varieties Green Valtellina. Riesling. Sauvignon Blanc. Pinot Blanc. Chardonnay. . Traminer and Müller-Thurgau, as well as to 20% with the red wine sort Zweigelt planted.
The basement is laid out in three levels, which is why pumping operations are avoided. After the juice extraction is done individually tailored to the grape material and most gentle squeeze, The wines ripen exclusively in stainless steel tanks in the approximately 400 year old brick vault of the wine cellar.
