2015 Chianti Classico DOCG Gran Selezione "Vigna Elisa", Tuscany, Italy

Lard, earthy and tobaccoy-woody scent of partly dried and preserved black and a little red berries with a hint of poppy seeds, plummy tones and dried herbaceous aromas, floral hints and some malt. Ripe, partly canned fruit with chocolaty and again slightly malty aromas, some dark caramel on the palate, still slightly drying, youthful tannin, lots of power, good persistence, slightly smoky on the palate, bacony nuances, some warmth, a hint of salt in the background, also herbs, very good, quite firm finish with ripe juice, minerality and woody notes
