DOC area for red wine in the Italian region Tuscany, The zone covers a part of the municipality of Montepulciano in the province of Siena. From the year 2019 the name was changed to label supplemented with "Toscana". This should be confused with the DOCG wine Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Colline Teramane (Abruzzo) are excluded. The wine is from the Sangiovese clone Prugnolo gentile (about 70%), and other approved varieties (maximum 30%, of which a maximum of 10% white varieties).
