Preserved and candied black and red berries on the nose, herbaceous notes, predominantly lovage, smoky and roasted notes, spicy oak. Tart, fairly cool fruit on the palate, prominent toasted oak, sandy, astringent tannins, light acid bite, full-bodied and creamy, noticeable alcohol, touch of lovage again, slightly fuzzy contours, more noticeable alcohol and prominent oak on the finish.

Best to drink: Bis 2012+. What our ratings mean

Editor note: Fairly shy nose with dried and preserved berries, light mineral notes, some oak and nutty notes. Fairly tranquil on the palate, slightly lifeless fruit of dried berries and stewed prunes, not a lot of real substance, prominent astringent tannins, attractive finish.
