2009 Toscana IGT Cabernet Sauvignon Maestro Raro, Tuscany, Italy

Clear, firm nose, ripe black berries and a few cherries, some leather, dried meaty notes, some dried herbs, cedary notes and dark ethereal spice. Ripe, tart, juicy dark fruit, cedary and tobacco notes, some smoke and moderate coffee spice, quite present, fine tannin, persistent, has power but no heaviness, still relatively young, salt in the background, some mint and a hint of pepper, very good, firm finish with dark juice and dark chocolate. Developing even better than expected and probably still has its best days ahead of it.
