2011 Chianti Classico DOCG Riserva Berardenga Rancia, Tuscany, Italy

Firm, tart, smoky and a little bacony aroma of ripe black berries and some cherries with peppery nuances, dried herbs, Brazil nut and a hint of tar. Firmly knitted, juicy dark fruit, smoky-roasty and hints of malty notes, present, yet ripe and fine tannin, some bite, dense and persistent on the palate, a little liquorice in the background, a lot of power and some warmth, a little tar in the background, salty nuances, hints of dried herbs, very good, firm, warm, juicy and spicy finish.
