The winery "Ferruccio Carlotto" is located in the municipality of Ora (Ora) in the area South-Tirol (Alto Adige) in the Italian region Trentino-Alto Adige, Umberto Carlotto began in 1940 as a half-tenant (mezzadro) on the estate Schloßhof at the ruins Caldif in Mazon viticulture to operate, where he worked for 50 years together with his brother and later with son Ferruccio the vineyards. Ferruccio Carlotto started his own business in 2000, daughter Michela is responsible for the cellar and vinification. The vineyards cover 1.6 hectares of vineyards in Mazzon (mainly Pinot Noir and some Vernatsch), and just under a hectare in Auer (Lagrein). The wines are called DOC South Tyrol produced. After alcoholic fermentation, the malolactic fermentation takes place in new and used barriques as well as in large wooden barrels, where the 12-month expansion takes place. This is followed by leveling in steel tanks and large wooden barrels, another six-month storage and then bottling. Only after several months of storage, the wines are marketed.
