The winery "Ferruccio Carlotto" is located in the municipality of Auer (Ora) in the area South-Tirol (Alto Adige) in the Italian region Trentino-Alto Adige, Umberto Carlotto began to work as a half-leaseholder (mezzadro) in 1940 on the Schloßhof estate near the Caldif ruins in Mazon, where he worked the vineyards for 50 years with his brother and later also with his son Ferruccio. Ferruccio Carlotto started his own business in 2000, daughter Michela is responsible for the cellar and vinification. The vineyards cover 1.6 hectares of vines in Mazzon (mainly Pinot Noir and some Vernatsch), and almost one hectare in Auer (Lagrein). The wines are called DOC produced. After alcoholic fermentation, the biological acid degradation takes place in new and used barriques as well as large wooden barrels, where the 12-month aging takes place. This is followed by leveling in steel tanks and large wooden barrels, another six months of storage and then bottling. The wines are only marketed after several months of storage. Around 20,000 bottles of wine are produced annually. The winery is a member of Free wine growers in South Tyrol,
