2001 Barolo DOCG La Rosa, Piedmont, Italy

Translate to English Deutlich holzwürziger Duft nach eingemachten schwarzen und roten Beeren mit etwas Kandis und Schokolade, Aromen getrockneter Kirschen, süßlich-herben Gewürzaromen, getrockneten Blüten und süßem Tabak. Reife, saftige Frucht mit viel schokoladig-nussiger Holzwürze, feiner Säurebiss, nachhaltig am Gaumen, tabakige Aromen, präsente, reife und mürbe Tannine, noch immer ziemlich vital wirkend, guter bis sehr guter, recht saftiger und holzwürziger Abgang mit Noten von Vanille, Milchschokolade und ein wenig Karamell. Von uns in seiner Jugend unterschätzt, wenn auch nach wie vor ein wenig holzbetont.

Editor note: Intense nose, lovage, dark chocolate, cinnamon and cardamom, with light vegetal notes. Lots of chocolate and soft oak in the mouth, slightly dissolute and subdued berry fruit, some preserved cherries, with quite mature, fairly moderate tannins (for this variety), attractive finish. Very commercial, modern style, loses some character as a consequence.
