2009 Ovada DOCG Superiore Ottotori, Piedmont, Italy

Tart nose with some dark chocolate, partly dried and preserved dark fruit, herbs and spices, hint of licorice. Fairly juicy polished, very ripe fruit on the palate, toasted oak, chocolate and nutty notes, fine sandy tannins, persistent, very full-bodied, noticeable alcohol, hint of malt, improves with aeration, good to very good finish.

Best to drink: Ende 2012 bis 2016+. What our ratings mean
