2003 Barbera d'Asti DOC Barbera Superiore "Montruc", Piedmont, Italy

Restrained nose with preserved red berries, cedar wood, dried prunes. Not particularly full-bodied, almost gentle berry and plum fruit, quite rounded and harmonious, approachable, mature and almost fully integrated tannins, slightly sweet vanilla notes, noticeable oak, attractive finish.
