2007 Gavi DOCG Minaia, Piedmont, Italy

Slightly ripe, candied nutty and woody-spicy scent of candied and partly dried citrus fruits with slightly minty herbal notes. Clear, juicy, ripe fruit in the mouth, notes of candy, nutty and spicy wood, fine, lively acidity, persistent on the palate, much power and melodiousness, noticeable, slightly warming but well integrated alcohol, still shows surprising freshness, very good, somewhat cocoa-like, woody and also juicy finish.

Editor note: Quite a tranquil, cool nose, apple fruit, spicy and mineral notes, tart vegetal traces. Full-bodied and creamy on the palate, prominent spicy oak, some tart spicy notes, elegant acidity, earthy and mineral notes, good persistence and has some depth, firm with light tannins and a hint of cocoa, very good finish.
