Fairly firm nose, preserved black and some red berries, light spicy notes and dried herbs, light spicy oak. Slightly tart on the palate, dark fruit, prominent spicy oak, astringent tannins, some chocolate, light sooty notes, noticeable alcohol, fairly persistent, still youthful, slightly astringent again on a good finish.

Best to drink: 2009-2011+. What our ratings mean
