Editor note: Citrus and peaches on the nose, vegetal and herbaceous notes, prominent mineral notes and delicate floral traces in the background. Ripe, juicy, sweetish fruit on the palate, very elegant acidity, yeasty and nutty notes, herbacoeus notes, prominent earthy and mineral notes, floral traces and a hint of red berries in the background, some dapth, good grip, hint of tobacco and peppery traces, very good firm, juicy, spicy, herbaceous and minerally finish - but quite unnecessarily sweet.
Best to drink: 2019-2025+

The production area is located in the federal state of Hessen in Germany. The vineyards cover 3,211 hectares of vine area starting at the lower Main river east of Wiesbaden and extending about 50 kilometres along the right bank of the Rhine to Lorch north of Rüdesheim. The "Rheingau Riesling Route" wine route runs along the right bank of the Rhine from Lorch to Hochheim. Emperor Charlemagne (742-814) allegedly had the first vineyard planted near today's Johannisberg Castle.
