The vineyard is located in the south Hungary close to the border too Croatia It is named after the town of the same name (until 1999, the area was called Villány-Siklós). The vineyards cover about 2,300 hectares of vineyards. In a continental climate with Mediterranean influences, with long, hot summers and cold winters, the vines grow on predominantly lime and dolomite-rich soils with loess and clay deposits. To the city of Villány it is mainly the red wines Cabernet Sauvignon. Cabernet Franc, Kékfrankos ( Blaufränkisch ), Kék Portugizi ( Blue Portuguese )...

The white grape variety comes from Hungary. The name means "linden leaf" and derives from the remotely similar leaf shape as well as the aroma of the large, loose- Grapes off. Synonyms are Feuille de Tilleul ( France ); Lipolist, Lipolist Biyali ( Croatia ); Lamb tail, Linden-leaved, Linden-leaved, White ( Austria ); Lipovina ( Slovakia.
