2008 Mannersdorf Gewürztraminer Auslese süß, Lower Austria/Niederösterreich, Austria

Clear, typical nose, tart and spicy, dried orange zests, roasted nuts, lychee, kumquats and stone fruit, touch of sugar candy and caramel. Sweet dried fruit on the palate, typical bitter touch of Traminer, light vegetal, earthy and phenolic notes, elegant, lively acidity, dried fruit and caramel toasted and nutty notes, bread and raisins, not particularly deep, good finish.

Editor note: Dried, preserved, very ripe pomaceous fruit on the nose, some roasted nuts and partly dried herbs, hint of honey, light touch of bread and leafy notes. Soft, creamy and elegant on the palate, gentle, restrained candied and preserved pomaceous fruit, some jammy melon, light spice rose water, lychee and herbs, very moderate acidity, light hint of bitter note typical of the variety, quite sweet, very creamy, very good finish.
