2006 Barbera d'Alba DOC Vittoria, Piedmont, Italy

Preserved and marinated berries on the nose, some rum punch, old oak, undergrowth, earthy and malted notes. Soft, slightly diffuse preserved berry fruit on the palate, some dark chocolate, brandy cherries and nuts, herbaceous components, integrated tannins, pure power, but not particularly deep, noticeably alcoholic on an attractive to good finish.
