2014 Barolo DOCG San Giovanni, Piedmont, Italy

Clear, polished, quite complex bouquet of ripe red and a little black berries with pomegranate notes, floral nuances, a hint of pepper, tobacco, dried flowers and mineral tones. Firm, juicy, polished, relatively cool fruit, tight, fine tannin, some bite, nutty, spicy and a hint of toasty tones, a hint of tar, citrus nuances in the background, lots of pepper, also salty minerality, hinted at cola nut, appears young, although a hint open, has freshness, good depth, very good, tight finish with a touch of soup herbs, fresh juice and slightly peppery and herbal spice. Not quite at the level of the first tasting a year ago.

Erstklassig.
