2011 Barbaresco DOCG "Rocche Massalupo", Piedmont, Italy

Somewhat developed, slightly dried-floral nose, red and black berries, some undergrowth and some mushroom notes, some tobacco and iodine in the background. Tart, ripe fruit in the mouth, nutty and spicy notes, some cocoa, prominent, slightly astringent tannins, smoky notes on the palate, nutty and earthy notes, good persistence, a hint of bacon and sweetness in the background, very good, quite tart, again quite persistent slightly dry finish with leathery traces.

Best to drink: Bis 2022+. What our ratings mean
