2005 Colli Orientali del Friuli DOC Pignolo, Friuli/Venezia-Giulia, Italy

Fairly matue and very slightly oxidative nose, spicy oak and a delicate hint of chocolate, partly preserved and partly dried red and black berries, prominent spicy and light herbaceous notes, noticeable alcohol. Very full-bodied on the palate, ripe fruit, smoky, lightly toasted spicy oak, candied nuts, hint of dried herbsm firm, fairly fine, partly mature tannins, earthy traces, good persistence, fairly well integrated high alcohol, has some depth, good to very good finish.
