2007 Colli Orientali del Friuli DOC Merlot Riserva, Friuli/Venezia-Giulia, Italy

Slightly oxidative nose, light smoky notes and spicy oak, preserved and partly dried black berries, plums and some red berries, spicy notes, some cloves, pepper and chocolate. Full-bodied and creamy on the palate, ripe, slightly jammy and slightly oxidative notes with toasted oak and some chocolate, sweetish, tart spice, more cloves, quite a big body, fairly broad in spite of a light acid bite, noticeable alcohol, good finish.
