2009 Colli Orientali del Friuli DOC Merlot, Friuli/Venezia-Giulia, Italy

Preserved red berries, some blueberries and plums on the nose, touch of blood orange, herbaceous and licht toasted notes, mineral traces. Slightly jammy fruit on the palate, herbaceous notes, light toasted oak, chocolate and slightly astringent tannins, fairly persistent, full-bodied and creamy, but not particularly deep, good finish.
