Winery Wines Files 7

2012 Merlot trocken, Burgenland, Austria

Nutty, spicy oak on the nose, light toasted notes, black berries and partly dried plums, coffee notes, touch of cherries, peppery spice, some dried herbs, predominantly oregano, earthy and mineral notes. Ripe, partly dried and preserved spicy fruit on the palate, fairly prominent sandy tannins, tobacco, mocha, dark chocolate and some iodine, persistent, full-bodied, noticeable high alcohol, more peppery spice, firm grip, slightly rustic style, but becomes more elegant and juicy with aeration, also shows significantly more depth, quite complex, chocolate, spice, coffee and tobacco on a very good finish.
