2015 Blaufränkisch Reserve trocken "Rusterberg", Burgenland, Austria

Somewhat nutty, herbal and very slightly bacony aroma of ripe black berries with cherry notes, a hint of pepper, dried flowers, hints of tea, restrained wood barrel notes and quite distinct minerality. Taut, tangy dark fruit, present, ripe tannin and noticeable acidity, delicate smoky and bacon notes, pepper and a hint of juniper, persistent and dense on the palate, good depth, has tension, lots of salt, very good, firm, juicy and very mineral finish with ethereal herbal spice and again a little juniper. Has picked up again.

Editor note: Tart, fairly firm nose, predominantly black berries and a few cherries, floral and lirbaceous notes, mineral traces in the background. Firm, juicy, fairly tart fruit on the palate, light toasted notes and some chocolate, herbaceous aromas, peppery spice, concentrated and persistent, light acid bite, ripe, but still youthful tannins provide elegant grip, quite full-bodied, but also has finesse, good depth, salty mineral notes, hint of tobacco, very good firm, juicy, spicy finish.
