The winery is located in the municipality Göttlesbrunn in the Lower Austrian wine region Carnuntum, The name of the family from Stixneusiedl (then “Pittenauer's”) was first mentioned in the 17th century. The family has been involved in viticulture for several generations. The business was taken over by Hans Pitnauer in 1987 and built up with his wife Edith. He is considered a red wine pioneer and was instrumental in the creation of the Carnuntum wine region. After training to become a cellar master, son Johannes Pitnauer-Wolfram collected Klosterneuburg Wine School Experience in various wineries and has been running the business since 2018. The vineyards cover 22 hectares of vineyards on gentle slopes in the surrounding Arbesthal hills around Göttlesbrunn in the vineyards Bärnreiser Picture sharp Hagelberg and Neuberg.
