The wines keep constant high level and are usually the best in their respective category in the area. Weaknesses, there is little, but can occur in difficult vintages. However, this must be balanced in good years with particularly compelling assortments so that an operation can hold the status. In most cases you can blindly buy.

The estate is located in the commune of Obermarkersdorf at the foot of the Manhartsberg near Retz in the northeast of the Lower Austrian wine region Weinviertel, A wine trading company was founded by Herbert Studeny senior in the mid-1960s. From 1986 onwards he started to focus on quality with reduced yields. Today he is responsible for the Weingarten area. Herbert Studeny junior graduated from HBLA for wine and fruit growing in Klosterneuburg in 1997 and then gained practical experience in Australia (Hunter Valley), California (Napa Valley) and in Alsace. He is responsible for cellar technology and marketing in the company and describes himself as a "fruit fanatic". He is also chairman of the winegrowers' association Retzer Land wineries,

The vineyards cover 16 hectares of vineyards in, for example, the vineyards Atschbach, Nußberg, Sündlasberg and Triftberg. They are planted to 85% with the white varieties Grüner Veltliner (one third), Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay, and 15% with the red varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Blauer Portugieser and Zweigelt. There is a natural, environmentally friendly management with quality cut, part-time greening and intensive foliage work. There is a strict reduction in yield through thin out, The ultimate goal is physiologically mature Grapes.

White wines undergo a more or less long aging period after fermentation in steel tanks with repeated stirring if necessary. Depending on the ripeness of the grapes, the red wines undergo more or less long mash extraction. The classically developed varieties then mature for around a year in large wooden barrels or for top wines over a year in French barriques. The premium wines include several (Grüner Veltliner), Chardonnay Triftberg, primary rock Riesling Triftberg and the red wine cuvée "Hangenstein", which has been aged in barriques. When the weather is good, sweet wines such as dried berries and ice wines are also produced. Bottle-fermented sect are also produced.
