2007 Assmannshausen Höllenberg Spätburgunder Spätlese trocken Versteigerungswein, Rheingau, Germany

A little malty and even slightly tarry, also earthy and clearly mineral aroma of boiled down red and some black berries with delicate toasty tones as well as wood and undergrowth notes. Firm in the mouth, cool and yet also juicy, smoky-woody tones, very good persistence and depth, earthy and mineral notes on the palate, has power and high but well-integrated alcohol, clear character of origin, still young, very good to long finish
