The "Weingut & Hofbrennerei Hiestand" is located in the municipality of Guntersblum (area Nierstein) in the German wine-growing region Rheinhessen, In the turmoil of the Thirty Years War, the Swiss-born family came to Rheinhessen, where they have been growing wine for several generations. The family business is today owned by Erich and Berthilde Hiestand, for the cellar is son Gunther Hiestand responsible. The vineyards cover eleven hectares of vineyards in the individual layers Born path, Iron Hand, Cross Chapel and Steinberg (Guntersblum), and Hammerstein Castle (Albig). They are planted with the white varieties Riesling, Silvaner, Pinot Blanc, Müller-Thurgau, Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer, Scheurebe and Sauvignon Blanc, and with the red varieties, Portuguese, Dornfelder and Schwarzriesling.

The wines are in principle with natural yeasts fermented spontaneously, The big product range includes the five classes Zechweine, Gutsweine, Lagenweine, Prädikatsweine (until Trockenbeerenauslese and Eiswein) and JJ-Line. The latter is a tribute to Julius-Jakob Hiestand, who already in the 1920s produced his best wines at the natural wine auctions with great success Mainz sold. The JJ wines are produced since the year 1999 by Gunther Hiestand. They reflect a traditional wine philosophy as in the times of Jukius-Jakob Hiestand. With the least possible technical effort and based on traditional methods, these wines are vinified from the best vineyards and grapes with optimum maturity. There are also bottle-fermented sect, brandies made from various fruits of the region (grape, yeast, elderberry, vineyard peach, wild plum, quince), as well as liqueurs.
