2017 Rech Herrenberg Spätburgunder Grosses Gewächs, Ahr, Germany

Firm nose, light hint of tobacco, light black berry fruit, touch of nutty oak, peppery notes, light earthy and mineral notes. Ripe, juicy, partly preserved fruit on the palate, toasted oak, hint of bacon, dried vegetal aromas in the background, youthful, but quite well integrated tannins, good persistence, some depth, light smoky notes, slightly noticeable warm alcohol on a very good finish with partly preserved fruit.
