2008 Südtirol / Alto Adige DOC Merlot Riserva gant, Alto Adige, Italy

Tart nose, partly preserved red and black berries, hint of plums, some vegetal notes and old oak, herbaceous notes, touch of dried flowers, noticeable alcohol. Juicy on the palate, full-bodied and concentrated, ripe fruit, vegetal notes and old oak, fairly fine tannins, roasted oak and some bacon, good persistence and has some depth, earthy and mineral notes, very good tart finish with slightly warm alcohol.

Best to drink: 2011-2018+. What our ratings mean
