2005 Südtirol / Alto Adige DOC Lagrein Riserva Taber, Alto Adige, Italy

Translate to English Herber, etwas rauchiger, animalischer und rußig-röstiger Duft nach reifen, teils angetrockneten schwarzen Beeren mit Trockenkräuternoten, ein wenig Tee, Zedernholz, getrockneten Blüten und erdigen Beitönen. Fest und kräftig im Mund, reife, recht saftige, dunkle Frucht mit röstigen, an Bitterschokolade und kandierte Nüsse erinnernden Holzaromen, recht feines, präsentes Tannin, nachhaltig und Griffig, viel Kraft und Schmelz, aber auch kühle Elemente, eine Spur Eukalyptus, mineralische Anklänge, gewisse Tiefe, sehr guter, saftiger und würziger Abgang.

Editor note: Preserved black berries, cherries and plums on the nose, vegetal notes with a hint of bell peppers, some dark chocolate, smoky, roasted notes. Full-bodied and juicy on the palate, fairly prominent toasted notes, more vegetal notes and bell peppers, fairly fine and fairly prominent tannins, very creamy with noticeable alcohol, cedary traces, fairly prominent acid bite, quite smooth and polished, good persistence, very good finish.

Editor note: Preserved black berries and cherries on the nose, herbaceous notes, some roasted notes and spicy oak. Tart o nthe palate with spicy oak, cool fruity and light smoky notes, fine sandy and slightly astringent tannins, salty mineral notes, goor persistence, has some depth and body, still youthful, good long finish.
