2009 Südtirol / Alto Adige DOC Gries Lagrein-Merlot Mauritius, Alto Adige, Italy

Slightly jammy nose, sour cherries, preserved red berries and some black berries, tart vegetal and herbaceous notes. Sweet and tart, polished, slightly jammy fruit on the palate, sugar candy and a hint of chocolate, slightly sandy tannins, quite youthful, bot particularly deep, hint of cereals, quite an easy-drinking style, not particularly vibrant, good finish.
