2015 Südtirol / Alto Adige DOC Lagrein-Merlot "Mauritius", Alto Adige, Italy

Somewhat developed, smoky and slightly cedary aroma of ripe black berries, some tomatoes, Brazil nuts, coconut, marjoram and oregano with tobacco and leathery nuances. Ripe dark fruit with bitter chocolate and slightly sooty wood spice, coffee grounds, a little iodine, liquorice and ethereal notes, crumbly-sandy tannins, good persistence, almost a little sweetish melting, sooty hints in the background, notes reminiscent of partly preserved blueberries, not always deep, noticeable alcohol, good to very good finish.
