2015 Südtirol / Alto Adige DOC Merlot Riserva Siebeneich, Alto Adige, Italy

Fairly open, slightly mature nose,dried floral traces, dark berries and some cherries, slightly sooty, spicy oak, herbaceous notes, vegetal notes reminiscent of capers. Ripe, partly preserved fruit on the palate, prominent smoky, toasted, spicy, sooty oak, fairly prominent fine sandy tannins, dried herbs, hint of capers again, some black olives, prominent dark chocolate, noticeable warm alcohol, spicy notes and licorice, slightly jammy, spicy cocoa, more noticeable alcohol on a good to very good finish.
