2017 Südtirol / Alto Adige DOC Lagrein Riserva "Taber", Alto Adige, Italy

Fairly firm, deep nose, black berries and a few cherries, touch of juniper, herbaceous traces, hint of licorice, fairly moderate oak. Clear, ripe, juicy, dark fruit on the palate, herbaceous and dried floral traces, light earthy notes in the background, hint of smoked bacon, sooty traces and some chocolate, very good substance and persistence, some depth, light peppery notes, quite complex, still young, more chocolate, bacon and spicy notes on a very good, juicy, grippy finish.
