2006 Südtirol / Alto Adige DOC Lagrein Riserva, Alto Adige, Italy

Preserved and partly overripe black berries on the nose, some cherries, hint of mustard seed, licorice and malted notes, some bread, smoky and roasted oak. Full-bodied and creamy on the palate, ripe to overripe fruit, prominent oak, fairly mature, but partly also still slightly astringent tannins, slightly noticeable alcohol, malt and licorice, but also has juicy fruit, good substance and persistence, good to very good finish.

Best to drink: 2010-2014+. What our ratings mean
