2004 Südtirol / Alto Adige DOC Gewürztraminer Freienfeld, Alto Adige, Italy

Delicate mature nose, fine herbs with notes of candied yellow fruit, fairly ripe melons and a hint of high alcohol. Quite mature on the palate, light animal notes, but ripe yellow fruit, preserved melon and preserved white berries, bitter dried mountain herbs, soft and full-bodied, a light mineral note and the slightly sharp alcohol provide backbone, good finish. At peak maturity now. Perfect partner for carefully selected food.
